The mission of Lazarus Ministries is to offer unlimited compassion while providing for the unmet needs of Kansas City’s urban core through a volunteer program which allows an opportunity for interpreting service as an expression of faith.
Our goal is to provide for the basic human needs of our Sojourners with warmth and dignity.
This may come in the form of a meal for a mother with her two children who have nowhere else to go. Temporary housing for a woman long ago abused and abandoned. Or warm clothes, soap and a fresh razor for a former veteran now living on the street.
Lazarus’ Table was founded in 1996, serving 10,000 meals that first year.
Over the past 20 years, the services provided have grown significantly, going beyond providing food. We are evolving with an increasingly diverse population and changing landscape of Kansas City; but remain committed to following God’s call to serve those in need.
With the support of more than 2,000 volunteers and donors each year, Lazarus Ministries is changing the lives of Sojourners.
By giving or volunteering, you are part of the solution for homelessness and urban poverty. Be a part of something bigger than yourself – join us and help bring hope and opportunity to the Sojourners of Kansas City.
